Here are the recipes for the next two weeks. As you might notice there aren't 14- I planned in some nights and lunches as leftovers and the other meals are things I don't necessarily need a recipe for.

New meal plans
Here we go- two week meal planning starting this week. Our goal is to reduce the grocery budget, make healthier meals and not eat out all weekend. :) My sister and I did a bunch of freezer meals while we were together last weekend which will kick start our two weeks. Hopefully after we get used to the two week planning we can move onto monthly planning! Recipes will be posted shortly to go with the calendar. Wish us luck!

End of week TWO!
Well, I have survived this far... At weigh in this morning I was down another THREE pounds! That brings the grand total to 11 pounds so far! Whew! I was starting to get a bit nervous this week because I was being impatient and weighing myself every day and I wasn't seeing the numbers change much, if at all. I was starting to get frustrated! I just tucked my head down and gritted my teeth, and drank more water. :) Now this morning I see that the scale changed! Oh what a great way to start off my week!
I think that my changing food choices are starting to affect the husband. Last night for dinner I convinced him to try a "lettuce taco" instead of his usual taco for dinner. He ate the entire thing and said he even liked it! Tah-dah! Change people. I am so excited to see this better choices already rubbing off on my family.
Well, onto week three. I think I am finally getting the hang of eating my 5 and 1 meals and getting my portions figured out. I still measure just about everything- I am too committed to let a simple thing like and extra ounce of "lean" throw me off!

Lets get the show on the road...
Where do I even start on this journey? I have struggled with my weight/health my entire life, complicated with Type 1 Diabetes and Thyroid issues I have always just "done my best" to cope and live my life. Now I am a wife to an amazing guy, and a mommy to the sweetest little boy and it is time to get a few things reigned in and in order. First: my weight. That is a pretty big item on the top of the list but for my health and the health of my family it needs to be addressed. We are working on being more active and eating better, I thought I was doing a pretty good job already but the remaining baby weight is killing me- I have never weighed this much and I can tell that it is affecting me. So stay tuned and see where we end up...
After a year of trying (and failing) to loose weight on my own I started to look around and see what I was doing wrong and how I can do things better. I have seen a few ladies close to me have AMAZING results with Take Shape for Life. After lots of thought, and research, and conversations with the Husband we decided to give it a go. We have plans for the husband to join me on the Take Shape for Life journey soon and I couldn't be more excited to see how things change for us. It is going to be some hard work! Changes in routine and patterns are never easy and I am breaking up with food.
Here I am at day three on my new eating plan and I am already down SIX POUNDS!!! (Can you hear me screaming?) I have been "dieting" and exercising for months and the scale never budged... Talk about some of the most frustrating and depressing times.
So, here is our starting point. We only have one body so we need to take care of it!
